Ashleys Oscars

Okay heres a compiled list of some movies that I think deserve a bit of recognition. Some are (A) movies, some are (B) movies and some could be considered (Z) movies but all have had a lasting impact in my life. :) Especially those containing Emilio Estevez and Patrick Swazey.

1. Gone with the Wind. Wins for being a classic and like the longest movie ever made. It was released before world war 2 and is epic.

2. Dirty Dancing. Wins for education. This movie was how I learnt about sex, apparently conservative christians are right. Dancing leads to sex.

3. Its a wonderful life. Wins for being the best black and white movie out there. Good story, funny, inspiring movie. Creates Christmas nestalgia.

4. Young Guns. Wins for best western. No contest, Emelio, Keifer, and Charlie Sheen not to mention music by Bon Jovi.

5. Blair Witch Project. Wins Only movie to make me not shut my eyes for 24 hours. Come on the guy in corner at the end, freakin terrifying.

6. Pretty In Pink. Wins for Token eighties movie. I love Molly Ringwald. You cant go wrong with her eighties flicks, except For Keeps.

7. Monty Python: The search for the Holy Grail. Wins for best british movie. So funny, I laugh every single time I watch it.

8. Snatch. Wins for best shoot em up movie. Ignoring the profanity, this movie is awesome to watch, I wish I spoke Pikey.

9.Crash/Momento. Tie for best think movies. Love the story with crash/ like the filmography with momento.

10. From Justin to Kelly. Wins for best full length music video movie. This movie makes you want to go to the beach and get a tan.. love it.

Some Ramblins

So I am graduating finally, from a school that in September of 2006 will no longer exist... talk about getting out in time. Yep Rocky has joined the league of bible schools in calgary that seek to destroy all competition and hockey rivalry and premote some type of monopoly superschool for everyone. Well Im glad my degree will be recognized....

Calgary Hospitals part 2. The herding process. I was at the childrens hospital for close to six hours last night and have come up with some new observations. Babies are way down on the totem pole. We went into emergency and stood in line with at least 30 other families for over an hour. Once through the line we were sent to large waiting room far away from emergency. I felt like I was left in the corral with over a hundred other cows waiting for the inevitable. After 2 shift changes and 5 hours later a nurse finally spoke to us and told us we could come in. I looked around the room and noticed that there were none of the same people around us. We were last... not admitted last but seen last....

Wow this blog is getting depressing. Ok, well I am seeing Shauna, Daron, Kev and Tav tonight so things are looking up. Oh ya and Italy is getting closer. So yea!! Ps, I miss all of you guys so much right now, it sucks, I really need a good friend pick me up. We gotta get together some time soon k

dont have babies in calgary

sleep with one eye open

So, so tired. THis weekend I have been parenting teens. Not like LITE force where the kids are generally well behaved. I have girls getting tattoos, taking off, sleeping with strange guys and these girls all have babies. I like my job, but I am not ready to be a parent. I grounded a girl for the first time last night. I didn't like it. I held a crying baby for over an hour and a half last night. I didn't like it. SO I'm glad you are going to hold out on kids for awhile erin. I'm with ya. I'm taking a baby to day care tomorow 645am... oh sweet sleep please come. It's past curfew and the girls aren't home yet... urrggg, so tired.
please keep me in your prayers

Candle making 101

Okay, this post is for shauna who has forgotten how to make candles. Although we used to make them all the time... anywho.
candle receipe

ingredients:
parafin wax available at safeway (canning supplies)
crayons (crayola is brightest)
candle scent (walmart, michaels, sometimes dollar stores)
wick rope or wicks available at any craft store, or usually most dollar stores.
pop cans (for circle candles
jars (for jared candles)
1 ltr milk containers. (for square candles
old pot
clothes pin or pencil

heat parafin wax on stove with colored crayon till melted, pour into disposable container (pepsi cans work best ;) tie wick to pencil (or use clothes pin)and lay pencil across top of pop can. Centre it in the wax. Leave till dry, and remove popcan by cutting with scissors and peeling the aluminum.(easier than it sounds) For fast effects or multiple colors speed process by putting can in deep freeze. Once wax has hardened you can pour another color onto it.
****NEVER USE CRAYONS WITH GLITTER IN THEM*** Sticks to bottom of pot and engulfs in flames.(Remember the floor fire of 2002) Kristens floor was never the same...
Good luck
